Energize Your Rooms with Mid-Centuty Heywood-Wakefield Dressers

There’s no better way to elevate the style of a bedroom or entryway like anchoring it with a vintage Heywood-Wakefield dresser. Coming from humble beginnings, antique and vintage Heywood-Wakefield furnishings are now considered desirable collectibles. Originating as two rival companies, both Heywood Brothers and the Wakefield Company produced wicker and rattan furniture all the way back in the early 19th century. After the merger between the two businesses, the company began manufacturing wooden furniture. Collaborating with high-profile designers like Russel Wright and Gilbert Rhodes, the company continued to churn out quality dressers with a sort of futuristic look. Our collection of Heywood-Wakefield dressers include iconic lines like the Sculptura collection. Heywood-Wakefield Sculptura dressers are covered with raised panels that act as drawer pulls. The lack of hardware and three-dimensional shape also give the dresser a French Art Deco elegance combined with an Atomic style mid-century flair. Dressers from the Kohinoor collection are also among the brand’s most coveted pieces. Possessing a similar sculpted front to the Sculptura dressers, Kohinoor also have a long and low shape and tapered, pencil legs. A fusion of Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern styles, Heywood-Wakefield’s Rio line includes dressers with a recognizable wooden, crosshatch symbol as the drawer pulls. These dressers are also usually taller and, like many other Heywood-Wakefield products, shine due to the wood’s varnish. Look out for Haywood-Wakefield dressers with mirrors—they’re on the rare side!
