Meredith Ellis Design
Austin-based Interior Designer Meredith Ellis has been named a 2016 NEW TRAD by Traditional Home magazine. Now in its seventh year, the annual search recognizes the country’s ten most notable up-and-coming designers who represent the best of today’s traditional design style. Ellis was nominated for her work and selected out of hundreds of submissions over a 3-month period, by a panel of judges combined with an online voting process. Ellis and one of her projects, a 1940’s Colonial home in the historic Pemberton Heights neighborhood of Austin, will be featured in the July/August issue of Traditional Home and the summer issue of TRADhome, the online publication for Traditional Home. Ellis was the only Texas Interior designer selected, others include: Allison Dehn Bloom (DEHN BLOOM) Mill Valley, CA; Robin Henry (ROBIN HENRY STIUDIO) Westport, CT; Kristin Irving (KOO DE KIR ARCHITECTURAL INTERIORS) South Boston, MA; Alyssa Kapito and Vivian Muller (KAIPTO MULLER) New York, NY; Krista Nye Niholas and Tami Ramsay (CLOTH & KIND) Ann Arbor, MI and Atlanta, GA; Matt Sanders and Brandon Quattrone (CONSORT) Los Angeles, CA; Liz Stiving-Nichols (MARTHA”S VINEYARD INTERIOR DESIGN) Vineyard Haven, MA; Ashley Waddell and Courtney Whatley (OLIVIA O’BRYAN) Vero Beach, FL; Kevin Walsh (BEAR HILL INTERIORS) Little Rock, AR. “I am so honored to be included in this group of highly talented designers,” says Meredith Ellis. “I love this business and feel so lucky to be able to create beautiful spaces for people to call home. For me, tradition is what connects us to our past, and I love incorporating elements that tell the story of the people who live there, but still keep the space fresh and current. I find the NEW TRAD search very inspiring because you see so many amazing projects defining “Traditional” in a new way.“
