The University of Arkansas along with Alpha Chi Omega Sorority have selected Curtis & Windham Architects as the Design Architect for a new sorority house on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We are pleased to be working together with SCM Architects of Fayetteville, who as the Architect of Record combines expertise in this building type with a local knowledge of the campus itself. A permanent home for the Delta Rho chapter, the new house will be located on Maple Street adjacent to the historic center of campus. The house is projected to include 85 beds, a commercial kitchen, dining hall, library and study hall, chapter room, common spaces, and a house manager’s suite. The size will be approximately 30,000 square feet, with a total project cost estimated at $11.4 million.

Curtis & Windham Architects has been selected as one of Mountain Living’s 2013 Top Mountain Architects. The list appears in the September/October issue. The annual John Staub Award winners were announced this week by the Texas Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. The landscape and garden design of our South Boulevard Residence was the recipient of the John Staub Award in Landscape Architecture. The landscape design of this project developed a tapestry of exterior garden spaces that surround a renovation and addition to a 1920’s house, and also included a renovation of an existing historical garden. A John Staub Award for Interior Design went to Ann Wolf Interior Decoration for the “River Oaks Residence” which had also won an award in 2011 for both Residential Architecture and Landscape Architecture as the "Knollwood Residence." An Honorable Mention was given to the interiors of the Montrose Office Interiors for interior design. Established by the Texas Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art in 2011, the John Staub Awards recognize design excellence in classical and vernacular traditions in architecture, interior design, and craftsmanship of practices based in Texas.
