We split our time between Southern California (where we're busy refurbishing a tiny mid century home) and Northwestern Washington (where we restored a turn of the century cottage and built a custom workshop). As such we have inventory in both WA and CA.
The romance of old stuff got me at a very early age. In elementary school I would frequent abandoned buildings and drag home antique hardware in old buckets. It ignited a passion which lead to purchasing demolition salvage rights of old houses/buildings so I could to try to save as much architectural ornamentation and woodwork as possible. Sometimes the salvage rights included homes that were fully furnished, it was like digging through a time capsule. A love for history ensued which sparked a furniture restoration business. Over the decades the thrill of the hunt and deep satisfaction of saving these bits of history has never left me. I sell items that have been in my own home or that I would be proud to have in my home (if only I could find one more spot). At this point in life I am technically supposed to be downsizing, please help! (LOL)
