The chairs are in very good condition, some have a bit of wobble but structurally sound. The seat cushions attach to the chairs in an almost unnoticeable way and can be removed very easily. There … more This dining set is the real deal, solid wood, old world construction, crafted beautifully in the Ming Dynasty style. There is no manufacturer's mark or label to identify the actual age or country of origin, but it is very much in the style of the Michael Taylor asian collection for Baker furniture. I'm guessing 1970's from the look of the fabric but it could have been made much earlier than that. What I can say is, for anyone that has longed for a dining room made for glamorous dinner parties this is the set. One could easily seat eight or more by using both leafs, and all the chairs. Use one leaf for a more intimate group. The two armchairs are so beautiful, with or without the seat cushions, they could be used as side chairs in any room.
Personally, I would use them in an entry or foyer without the seat cushions, like functional works of art. less
