Antique enamel-on-copper trinket box.
On the cover is a courtier doffing his hat and bowing to the king. The seated … more Antique enamel-on-copper trinket box.
On the cover is a courtier doffing his hat and bowing to the king. The seated king has a sphinx at his side. The men are in 17th C garb. Black and white with touches fo flesh tone.
The sides of the box are sirens and swirls in white and gray on background. There are fine designs in gold on one side; any gold on the other side is lost.
Inside and underside of lid are solid black.
Brass rims and hinge.
Age and place of origin unknown.
Measures 2-7/16" diameter, 1-1/4" height
Good antique condition. No damage to enamel. The rims are bent and the box does not quite close. less
