Beautiful round Couroc of Monterey tray depicting the north façade of the Stanford University Memorial Church, University's "architectural crown jewel".
The Couroc Company was founded by Guthrie Courvoisier and his wife Moira Wallace, who was an artist, in 1948. They designed and made thousands of trays, bowls & accessories which were hand inlaid by master craftsmen using shells, coins, woods & metals. Each piece is one of a kind. Sadly, Couroc stopped production of these beautiful trays in 1998.
One of the company's advertisement states "Any tray can serve a drink. Only Couroc can start a conversation." Still true to this day.
This tray measures 10.5" wide. less
