The bowl has clean, simple lines featuring a thin gold embellishment around the rim. We acquired this set of eight glasses at an auction. Our presumption was that we had a set of eight identical glasses. As is sometimes the case, two very, very similar -- but not exactly identical -- crystal patters were amalgamated into a set. That would frequently happen as a result of marriage or inheritance. Over the years, glasses from one set or the other would be lost or broken. It was only after the auction as we packed ;the glasses up that we discovered this set included two patterns. Six of the glasses are from a Fostoria pattern called "Golden Love" which was produced from 1958 to 1965. Two of the glasses are from a Fostoria pattern called "Aurora" which was produced from 1960 to 1974. You can compare the two glasses in the photos. They are almost (just not quite) exact matches. We only noticed when the glasses were side-by-side, and it is truly difficult to see the difference on a set table. According to Fostoria, these particular glasses were intended to be water goblets. However, given their capacity of 5 1/2 ounces, it would seem that these glasses might work better for wine or for cocktails. The seven Golden Love glasses measure 6 3/8 inches tall with a rim diameter of 4 inches.. The two Aurora glasses measure 7 inches tall. with a rim diameter of 3 3/4 inches. (An average of the two is shown in the dimensions section below.) We have discovered no nicks, chips, cracks, or hazing in any of these glasses. They appear to be in excellent condition. less
