Unfortunately the sun … more Here is an exceptional, antique bed frame that features amazing carved wood scenes and classic empire/neoclassical shapes. Unfortunately the sun was not working with me when I took these photos so there are some shadows, but rest assured that it is not discoloration. The wood looks fantastic for its age and the bed is extremely sturdy. I also did not fully bolt it together for photos, but it has all the hardware needed for assembly and comes together beautifully. The bed has carved details throughout - there are French inspired urns and scrolls on the headboard and side rails, and the piece de resistance, is the scene on the front footboard. To me it looks like Don Quixote in his knight attire, holding Dulcinea's hand. They are each wearing 17th century clothing and it feels very Shakespearean. The bed is both masculine and romantic. An absolute gem that was hiding in great grandma's attic for decades.

*Please note that the side rails are 74" long which will require a shorter full/double mattress. I have seen both 74 and 75" listed for sale.
