The painting appears to be of the mythological story of Mercury slaying Argus in a large wooded landscape scene with figures in the background.

Condition: Canvas is in rough condition with heavy craquelure and crazing. Has been re-lined with many old repairs to the canvas. Some areas of paint loss and flaking.
