This Florentine beauty was crafted from a composite resin rather than the traditional wood typically utilized by Florentine artisans. Composite materials provide a durable surface to repel spills and moisture and are resistant to watermarks and rings. With an Old World look-and-feel, visibly, it is difficult to distinguish the fact that it is not wood. It has been hand decorated according to the traditional techniques of 14th century Florentine craftsmen, which expresses the characteristics of a land with a vocation for art and beauty. Color is gorgeous viridian green, a peaceful green inspiring a sense of calm that looks a lot like the ocean on a cloudy day; it could compare to more robust shade of laurel green. Antiqued gold undertones add depth as does the gold gilt on the scalloped edge and on the interior’s acanthus leaf and scroll pattern; back is solid antiqued gold with a delicate harlequin scroll design. It measures 19” x 14” x 1” W/D/H; weight 1 lb. 1 oz.; handcrafted in Florence Italy sometime in the mid to late 1980s; makers mark is on the underside of the tray. In excellent condition with very little age-appropriate wear. It’s a gorgeous tray that will look fabulous in any setting, from ottoman to tabletop as a décor accent or serving tray, if you desire.
