19th Century French Renaissance Hand-Carved Wall Desk is a remarkable testament to the craftsmanship of artisans from the middle of the 1800s in France. Utilizing dense, old-growth oak to ensure this keepsake would last for generations, they created a design that is perfect for hugging a wall, yet functional enough to serve as a splendid executive's desk. No less than ten drawers afford ample opportunity for storage and organization, with five above the writing surface set back into the upper tier, festooned with scrolled foliate carvings that create a rail around the back to keep things on the upper display surface. The five upper drawers are carved with foliates and flanked by tall rectangular rosettes on each corner, and surround an open cubby hole perfect for stashing books, a tablet or laptop. The main writing surface extends out the full depth, and is bordered by a gadrooned edge, which overlooks the five remaining drawer configured the same as the upper tier, just larger. The entire casework is mounted on clockwise and counter-clockwise barley twist legs with matching stretchers for a wonderful Old World look.
