"I made art philosophy and philosophy and philosophy an art."

Yeliza Gevorgyan is an contemporary minimalist artist living and working in Rotterdam. Her minimalistic pieces are grounded in a deep appreciation for raw material, which range from natural pigments of varying shades, mineral stones and raw linen.

"My desire to work with traditional materials, stems from this connection with my Armenian heritage.

My process begins with a medium that captures my imagination, and becomes a playful and intuitive journey to discover what it can do. I’ve always liked the minimal intervention approach of artists like Rothko and Miró– it speaks volumes to me.
