Matthew White and Frank Webb bring unique perspectives to their wonderfully varied design projects. Matthew White is a classicist, with a deep love of antiques and decorative arts made through old-world techniques. Frank Webb is a modernist with a passion for the great 20th century masters and an eye toward the future. Together, they form the New York interior design firm, White Webb. Their interiors and much-praised furniture collections showcase a modern sensibility grounded in timeless style. Featured in virtually every American shelter magazine, as well as the New York Times and international publications, the design duo has received many honors.
Matthew was listed among the coveted AD 100, Architectural Digest’s pick of the top 100 designers from around the world, while both Frank and Matthew were selected as '50 for the Future of Design' by House & Garden. Besides being invited repeatedly to be among the handful of designers for the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse, the most elite of its kind in America, they were honored to be chosen to design the Architectural Digest Greenroom for both the Prime Time Emmy Awards as well as the Academy Awards in Los Angeles. More recently, White Webb was among the first to be invited by Metropolitan Home to be a part of the Met Home ~ Showtime House, a unique design exhibition where designers create rooms inspired by Showtime television series.
On the product front, White Webb’s Clearly Classic Collection of acrylic occasional tables has sparkled its way into the hearts of design aficionados and editors, gaining accolades in Elle Décor and House Beautiful , as well as countless blogs. Unique and broadly appealing, this furniture collection can be found at Donghia showrooms across the globe. Yet another line, White Webb’s Intaglio Collection, garnered so much attention that it inspired the curator of Rice Gallery in Houston, Texas to commission the pair to create a fantastical, site-specific art installation based on the boldly graphic and witty themes of this collection.
Even though White Webb is among America’s top interior design firms, Matthew White and Frank have never forgotten the objective of their work, which is to create unique settings for living that are appropriate, beautiful, comfortable and inviting. And they do so in a professional, rational and friendly way. After all, designing a home may have its stresses, but it is, above all, a celebration of life.
