I'm Polish artist, based in Lisbon (Portugal). Plants play a vital role in my work - they are not only the subjects, but also a vehicle of meanings. I use botanical iconography to explore relations between plants and humans; botany and its connection with current sociocultural and environmental factors.
My works are strongly influenced by the naturalistic education I received from my grandfather. I start each painting with a careful observation of nature and a series of botanical studies. Therefore, I don't attempt to depict plants with a realistic accuracy, but I search for their identity, language by analysing species stories, etymology, and by observing their nature.
Recently, I had a solo show in Warsaw (Poland) and participated in the annual exhibition of the Society of Botanical Artists in London (UK). Currently I'm working on my upcoming exhibition in Lisbon (Portugal).
I also worked with national institutions and international brands, like: Victoria&Albert Museum, Fundação Oriente, Zara Home, Laboratoires Filorga, to mention the fews.
