Shannon Michelle Carter grew up in Malibu, California, and has always been a creative person since the time of childhood. Knowing this, she explored her creativity by taking fashion design, and interior design classes at Santa Monica College while attending Malibu High School. It was during high school and college that she started working at fine design shops, and after that assisted at two prestigious residential interior design firms. She has further developed her trade and design skills through the UCLA Extension’s Architectural Interior Design Program, and has learned the “science and foundation of design” by taking classes in: Art History, Color Theory, Feng Shui, Drafting, 3D Perspective Drawing, Photoshop and Auto CAD. UCLA’s program is rigorous and at a Master’s level. It indeed has given her the right foundation and skills to use successfully in the interior design field she now practices. Shannon believes that she developed an eye for design from working with her Mother at Lofty Heights Design- their Christmas decorating, floral design, and special events company. She is grateful for all those who have aided her in her design journey. Her dream is now to use her talents to find her client’s style, and functionally bring their dream to life.
