They say “to know a business is to be in business” and I couldn’t agree more. Settled In Services started with the goal of becoming a full service home concierge company and assisting families during life’s transitions. The very first clients were families in need of liquidating their estates, or those of a loved one, leading us to holding estate sales. I got really good at researching items, staging and organizing the sales but felt this was not my ultimate goal or where I wanted to be. I also realized that privacy and discretion are very important and that opening one’s home to an estate sale is not for everyone. I did however rediscover a love for interior design, appreciation for a good statement piece, art, vintage, antiques and the history or stories these pieces had. I say I rediscovered my passion for design because I was that kid clipping pictures from Home and Garden magazine. I also bought and restored my first antique when I was ten. It’s become a company born from a passion for incorporating the past or preloved items into the modern world by curating a collection of pieces that add a unique style and character to today’s spaces. The goal of the Settled In Shop is to fulfill this mission because I feel that every home needs a bit of history and that shopping sustainably starts with preloved modern, vintage and antique pieces. The Settled In Shop is now a curated collection of furniture, artwork and home décor that can be found online or locally in our warehouse. The collection comes from items consigned to us as well as treasures found along the way. We work with interior designers and architects to help them find that special piece for a project as well as repurposing items that no longer serve their clients space. We also offer convenient pick-up and delivery, provide an assessment of the market value of items in your home for insurance and inventory purposes, and offer light staging or freshening up of the spaces in your home.

Prior to starting the Settled In Shop, I was (still am) a Registered Dietitian for over 20 years and have helped countless clients organize their eating habits to optimize their health. I have seen people’s lives transform physically and emotionally through compassion and understanding; listening to a person’s needs and utilizing a holistic approach to create a practical solution for individuals and families. It is these same skills that have carried through into a new chapter in my life which started during COVID. I have always had a passion for all things at home. I love remodeling projects, home repairs and interior design but with this new business, I felt I lacked the working knowledge to pursue it as a career. I obtained a training certificate in Interior Design from the University of Miami and with that, the Settled In Shop has allowed me to combine my passion for working with people together with my interest in interior design. Keeping my approach simple, practical and sustainable have been at the forefront of my philosophy.
In my personal time, you’ll find me trying to keep pace with my three beautiful teenage daughters, two dogs, and husband of 24 years. If I’m really off, I can be found boating in the Florida Keys, my Happy Place, with them all.
