    Growing up in a small Indiana town, my family may not have had the fanciest house on the block, but our windows were always clean. And, thanks to my mom, our home was well styled with unique vintage furnishings.

    I can still remember from my young-years, when usually on a really hot summer day, my mom would suddenly whip our cornflower blue Pontiac sedan over to the side of the road, spitting up gravel as the car came to a sudden stop. "I'll be right back" she'd say hurriedly over her shoulder as she jumped out of the car. I'd watch her through the rolled down window as she scurried over to a yard tag sale, quickly scanning the items with a look of determination that said "I don't know what I'm looking for...but I really do." She didn't always come back to the car with something, but if she did, it made me curious enough to think about the person who sold it, and also to wonder why did my mom choose 'that' to come home with us.

    The thrill-of-the-find I get from my mom. I love the hunt - scouting around, looking for well designed, unique objects. When considering any item, my mantra is 'If I like this enough to style it in my own home, then maybe someone else will like it also.'

    Early 20th century design brings me joy. I applaud the Bauhaus design movement, while also holding relevance to the singularity of Art Déco. While most of my pieces may reflect these movements, sometimes there's an oddball outlier in my shop that I just couldn't pass up. Just because....
