The Architect and Our Cultural Landscape Michael will discuss his new book Ranches, Villas, and Houses and the influences of local culture and the landscape in the shaping of his work and practice. Michael explores the relationship of the architect with the landscape through sketching and painting, and the importance of recognizing unique local environments, cultures and building traditions in the creation of a meaningful and sustainable architecture. Follow Michael down the dusty roads of Texas and the Southwest to view works from the book, as well others built in unique and challenging locations, including three recent Palladio Award winning projects.
