As an artist, I want to demonstrate how arresting the most substrative images can be. I want to seduce and electrify. The subjects of my work, whether a human figure or a flower are conveyed in bold flat colors, and with few details to encourage an instantaneous relationship between each viewer and the piece. I often play with depth and negative space to further disorient the viewer, so they ask themselves “What am I looking at? The shapes and colors are familiar, but how do they relate to one, another, to me“?
