MEGAN GREHL design studio is a practice of empowerment; elevating each detail, each design, each client and each team member to their highest potential by accentuating strengths and melding together each unique perspective. Since 2014, our diverse team has married the typically disparate practices of Architect, Interior Designer, Product Designer and Construction Manager into one inextricable thought process. It is from this vantage as a multi-faceted, collective unit that we can craft beautiful experiences and ensure cohesion from ideation to completion.
With each project, we cultivate a specific design concept that strives to reach the perfect alchemy of monumentality and intricacy, while capturing our client’s style and functional needs and injecting MEGAN GREHL’s taste, boldness and intrigue. Once this essence has been distilled, the resulting design language is channeled throughout the project, saturating all decisions from the architectural massing to the custom hardware mechanisms to the commissioned art installations to the hidden storage features. This holistic approach allows each project to reverberate in its uniqueness while embodying the MEGAN GREHL aesthetic of sculptural gestures, unexpected proportions, and layered textures. The potent result is a seduction of the mind, body, and soul.
We believe that design is not limited by location, but that its creation should always question its context. Through our process we analyze all of our spaces by 3D modeling and even in virtual reality. In this way we are able to analyze dimensions, test configurations, and confirm scale and proportion of all specifications, without relying on intuition. Our designs come together seamlessly because we value accuracy in our pursuit of the intangible; the experiential. This synthesis of technical and emotional skills was celebrated by Marcel Wanders at Salone de Mobile when he described MEGAN GREHL as “a true artist” and “a sophisticated, tactile designer.”
MEGAN GREHL is a six-person studio composed of international, passionate, fearless women who are collectively proficient in English, Mandarin, French, Spanish, Italian and Korean. We pride ourselves in nurturing client relationships and sustaining top quality deliverables around the globe with projects from Shanghai to New York, the French Alps to Miami. Our experience ranges from boutique commercial spaces and bespoke residences to Fortune 500 branding revitalizations and mountain-top ski resorts. We are eager to bring our skills and talent to other locations and clients, domestic and abroad, while maintaining our fiercely maternal commitment to our designs and their meticulous development.
