Maria Crosby Pollard brings more than 25 years of experience to the practice of interior design. In 2007, She founded Crosby Designs, LLC, a full service interior design studio located in Historic Old Town Alexandria, just outside of Washington DC. Crosby Designs understands how to balance family needs with the vibrant and elegant art of living beautifully, approaching every project with a fresh eye and an incredible breadth of knowledge of the fine and decorative arts.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Maria earned her BFA in Drawing & Painting from The Lamar Dodd School of Art at UGA and studied decorative painting in New York under the talented artisans of Isabel O’Neil Studio, before turning to interior design. She trained under some of the best interior designers of our time, including Cullman & Kravis, David Easton, Charlotte Moss and Katie Ridder. Maria brings an artist’s eye for composition, color, pattern and texture to every aspect of the job with an indelible, innate sense of style. The firm regularly collaborates with architects, artisans, and decorative artists to bring one of a kind, vintage and bespoke touches to all projects.
As an avid supporter of the arts, Maria serves on the Board of Visitors of the Lamar Dodd School of Art. She regularly chairs events for and is a member of The Designer Committee of the Washington Winter Show (Washington’s annual antique and arts show), is a member of the Design Leadership Network and a member of the ICAA. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, House Beautiful, Aspen Magazine, Capitol File Magazine, The Washington Post, The Florida Times Union and The Alexandria Stylebook. Maria was a guest speaker at the Jacksonville Antique Show.
