Although I teach art in many media, I am an artist at her best creating traditional and authentic oil paintings. My subjects range from portraits that will become family heirlooms to wildlife, oceans, landscapes, botanicals, and still-life art. It is important to me that I develop each painting into a subject that speaks both to me and others. It is all about the uniqueness of each subject and capturing that special moment in time. The subject, lighting and shadow, and color combinations, create an emotional or intellectual catalyst that is often different for each person viewing a painting. For me, this is a must in creating a narrative that makes the viewer want to explore the art, relate to it, and make it their own.
