Laurence Carr, CEO and Creative Director of Laurence Carr Inc, is best known as a leader in regenerative interior design, artfully weaving wellbeing principles and ancient techniques with contemporary aesthetics. Her award-winning, NYC-based design firm specializes in creating luxury environments focused on health, wellness, and sustainability.
Driven by her mission to normalize sustainable and circular design methods in the furnishings and interior design industry, Laurence is a proud brand ambassador for the Sustainable Furnishings Council, and an advisory board member for Thinking Huts. Laurence is also the executive producer and host of her EarthXTV original series, Chez Laurence.
She recently received the Interior Design Awards (IDA) 2021 Bronze Prize for interior design in the sustainable living/green design category. Her passion for educating the design community about their role in the betterment of our environment earned her the 2019 American Society of Interior Design (ASID) nomination for “Design for Humanity.”
Laurence was born in France, raised in Europe, and educated at Paris Universite VIII and Parsons The New School. She is a GREEN Leaders Accredited Professional and holds the Healthier Materials and Sustainable Building Certificate from Healthy Materials Lab at The New School, and holds memberships at International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the International WELL Building Institute, the National Kitchen Bath Association (NKBA), the American Society of Interior Design (ASID), and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).
As a thought-leader in the industry, Laurence is helping to shape the cultural dialogue of the design world through her work, her YouTube channel, her blog, Beyond Aesthetics, her international speaking engagements, and soon, her furniture and product designs.
