Kari McIntosh Design is a full service interior design firm on the San Francisco Peninsula. KMD’s clients include leaders and innovators in tech and finance. Known for her warmth and resourcefulness, Kari delights in storytelling through interiors. A California native, she followed an interest in architecture to Cal Poly SLO and though design labs were inspiring she quickly realized the program was more technical than desired and shifted focus. After earning a business degree her career took the fast track in the corporate world, eventually as VP of Equities Events at JPMorganChase. Accurate projections, realistic timelines, and efficient time management were critical at JPMorgan and are at the heart of her job as an interior designer. While at JPMorgan, Kari completed UC Berkeley’s School of Interior Design and Architecture Program and held two summer internships in the hospitality design field. Though the apprenticeships were invaluable, she discovered that working with people in their homes was more intimate and rewarding. In 2008, Kari traded corporate life for design and started her own firm specializing in transforming heritage homes for modern living. Her award winning work is published in House Beautiful, Traditional Home Magazine, and CA Home & Design, among others. She is a LEED AP and a member of ASID and ICAA.
