Thank you for your interest in Lorraine Headboards. I am Stephanie Lorraine and I am helping my father, John Flocks, in marketing his private collection of Lorraine awarding-winning headboards. These headboards were used for display and photography in our showroom, at national furniture shows, and in designer showhouses. They were not in the regular line for sale because they are constructed of rare hardwoods or were selected for their special grain patterns. None of these models were ever sold. Every headboard has its own story. My father asked me to find nice homes for these lovely bedroom centerpieces.

Lorraine Furniture Company was started in 1977 by my father, John Flocks in The Georgetown Car Barn in Washington DC. His first customer was Woodward and Lothrop, Washington’s premier department store who wanted an upholstered headboard. He innovated a concept whereby the fabric could be easily changed. Retaining clips hold in place a comfortable padded panel, so that any appropriate fabric from sheets to designer yard goods can be easily installed or changed at any time at home with staples or thumbtacks.

Antony Childs ASID was the premier Interior Designer in Washington DC during the 1970's, 80's. and 90's. He was also known nationally and internationally. When he died in 1994, he passed the company on to his right hand designer, Kelly Flocks, who was my mother. She has since passed on and I am in possession of some of Tony's personal collection of fine antiques, art, furniture, literature, and accessories.
