I became involved in interior design in 1985 – professionally, that is. I'm amazed it took me so long because I've been fascinated by houses, architecture, furniture, fabrics, et al, since my childhood in Camden, South Carolina, a lovely old town with an extraordinary collection of antebellum houses, and architecturally significant buildings.
I started my own firm in 1990 and have had the pleasure of working on interesting and varied projects – from apartments in Manhattan to houses all over the country – for many wonderful clients. And after a wonderful career in New York, I recently relocated back to South Carolina.
Between living in New York City, and being lucky enough to travel, I've been exposed to a whole range of stimuli, which has honed my sensibilities to the fascinating diversity of great design.
