I graduated from Santa Clara University’s Art History Department with a degree in “Bizarre, Relegated and Obscure Objects.” This ought to cover me for a lifetime membership in the weirdo club—I thought. I wrote my master’s thesis at Sotheby’s Institute of Art on appraising “Uncommon Historical Objects.” My parents are very proud. They are, however, entirely unsure what to do with me.
