CLOTH & KIND is a nationally recognized residential & commercial design firm led by Founders, Partners & Principal Interior Designers Krista Nye Nicholas & Tami Ramsay. At our very core we are curators and storytellers. Both inspired as children by our international travels and the natural world, we were invariably drawn to tell our stories through creation, by incorporating the objects and relics of those experiences into our lives like talisman. The textiles from India became magical, the shells and rocks from Argentina became treasure chest bounty. This early reverence for objects and the assignment of meaning to things found served as a telling precursor to embracing our true voice and vision for story through space. Many life experiences later, Krista and Tami have come full circle. Their combined design aesthetic is a unique confluence of the myriad of inspirations encountered in the world, in other cultures and in the simplicity of their daily lives. And like their lives, their creative vision always reaches for that splendid mix of layers, textures, textiles and art. At best, it is a playful intersection of what makes them deeply happy. They parlay this vision into each project and engage their clients in a collaborative exercise so that in the end, together, they create spaces with history and heart, with story and substance. The pair also pens the CLOTH & KIND journal, a widely read and praised blog that has emerged as a songbird showcasing the world’s leading and emerging talents and personalities within the interior design, textile and art communities. Their ongoing column PROUST ON DESIGN, offers a unique design-related spin on the traditional questionnaire by French novelist, essayist & critic Marcel Proust, and has featured some of the biggest names in the interior design industry. Krista & Tami's design work and writing have been featured in House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Remodelista, Lonny, The Huffington Post, The Atlantan. They also proudly serve as contributing editors to Dering Hall.
