Chatsworth IV Antiques is a 4th generation family & owned and operated Antique & Used Furniture business located in Westchester County, NY. Starting as a moving and transport company in New Rochelle back in 1924 by the 5 Lightbody brothers and one sister (My great Grandmother).
Moving to Chatsworth Avenue in Larchmont, NY in the late 1920s as Chatsworth Auction where it sat before the building was destroyed by a fire in the early 1930s. Eventually buying a 17,000 square foot 5 story building on Mamaroneck Ave in Mamaroneck, NY in 1936 and becoming Chatsworth Auction Rooms & Furniture Studios Inc where it sat and evolved into one of the oldest and largest buyers and sellers of antiques in NY State for close to 80 years.
At the time, the 3rd generation owner decided to sell the building and move out west. I took over in 2014 and moved to a smaller warehouse. Due to the Covid outbreak of 2020 with a forced shut down, I decided to close the doors to the public and go strictly online and work from home. Going full circle and back in New Rochelle as the 4th owner at the 4th location, hence Chatsworth IV.
