Carrie Megan Abstract Landscapes

Through the rich medium of oils, my exploration of light and color is an attempt to capture the unique sense of place, time and emotion evoked by each landscape that I paint. Using chip brushes and a palette knife, I build a painting in layers, often returning to a “completed painting,” and reworking color and composition in order to distill the essence of a place. From the mountains to the sea, diverse environments inspire the work that I do, both plein air and in the studio.
