<div>Buccellato Design, LLC is a practice marked by the partners’ nearly twenty years of close collaboration in some of the best traditional architecture practices in the country. With projects on both coasts and various places in between, Aimee and Kevin Buccellato’s award-winning work reveals a dedication to artistry and detail. Achieved in partnership with our clients, our buildings reflect a sense of rootedness in their landscape and their communities, and ultimately the quality of appropriateness, both of place and time. After receiving their initial manual and theoretical training at the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture, Kevin and Aimee launched their careers at top-flight residential firms in Houston and New York City. As Associates of the firm G. P. Schafer, Architect (GPSA, New York City), Kevin and Aimee held leadership roles in the design of numerous respected projects, from townhouses and city apartments to country houses in the Hudson River Valley and beyond. Aimee and Kevin returned to South Bend in 2008 to establish their practice and accept teaching appointments at the Notre Dame School of Architecture. In concert with the impact of their firm, their positions in the academy and their research support a larger contribution to the way that the built environment is conceived and effected. They both serve their community and the City of South Bend in their roles on the Parks and Arts Commission (Aimee, Board Member & Vice President) and the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County (Kevin, Board Member). Our role in a new endeavor begins at the initial, conceptual planning stages and continues throughout construction and even decoration. For this reason, we seek to build sound, communicative relationships with our Clients. Through conversation, precedent study, and drawing, design becomes a collaborative and iterative process. Distilling the essence of what a Client ultimately desires to create, and then acting as a steadfast advocate all along the way to achieving these aims, is truly an Architect’s calling. Artfully developing the nuances of a building, its virtues and distinctions which make it singular and so in-keeping with the needs and wishes of a Client, is part what we love most about our vocation.</div>
