Beth Picard is a contemporary mixed media artist from Birmingham, Alabama. After owning several small businesses over the past fifteen years, all of which incorporated her art, but required a lot of time on the computer to scan, render and make her art ready for products, etc… she decided to go back to her first love of painting and fully dedicate herself to that in 2017. Beth’s parents recognized her love of art when she was young and encouraged her through private lessons starting when she was six. She has explored almost all mediums through the last fifty-five years, but acrylics, mixed media and watercolors are her favorite.

Smile! Laugh! Be Happy! These are the things Beth wants to happen when you look at her art. Remember a fun party, remember when YOU were a "wild woman, look at an abstract and see things that no one else sees! This is the fun of art for her. She loves bright colors (especially hot pink), because they bring out excitement and happiness for everyone- at least that is what people have told her about her art.

Beth has been drawing, painting and doing art of all types for a REALLY long time! Just like most artists she knows, she started when she was old enough to hold a crayon and since then has drawn or painted on just about anything that will stand still.

Beth has had many creative businesses over the years, she owned a stationery manufacturing business and had dealers across the country selling her designs. She had a graphics business that transformed into a very successful product based business, so successful that she was working eighteen hour days, seven days a week. This was not the life she wanted, with no time for anything but work, so shortly before her 60th birthday she made the decision to go back to painting full time and hasn't looked back.

Beth says one of her most exciting moments was when artist Ashley Longshore bought a painting from her. "Ashley was such a huge inspiration for me when I began painting again full time. She is so encouraging to all artists and has proven what believing in yourself and 'going for it' can really accomplish".

Beth was a featured artist in the Art Issue of Vie Magazine, July 2019, and has been included in several other publications and blogs.
