Antiques, Collectibles, Unique Valuables & Furniture. THE Depot is named in memory of my grandparents, Beecher and Mabel Lane who owned and operated Red Depot Antiques in Algona, Iowa. Red Depot Antiques sold antiques, collectibles, and treasured "junk." Beecher Lane was once known as the "wildest trader in town" (Algona Upper Des Moines newspaper, Thursday February 5, 1976). Purchased by the Lanes, the "Red Depot" was once the old Minneapolis and St. Louis railroad depot located on Elm St. in Algona. The "red depot" building was destroyed by a tornado on June 28, 1979. THE Depot is managed by Mabel and Beecher Lane's granddaughter.
