Donna Mondi Interior Design
This new construction, 3,700 sq.ft condominium is located in One Bennett Park, designed by Robert A.M. Stern architects and boasts panoramic views overlooking Lake Michigan, the Chicago Riverfront, and the iconic skyline. The clients were a young, power couple that wanted their primary residence to be show-stopper that complemented their other homes across the country. With an appreciation for classical architecture, One Bennet Park aligned with their goals however the interiors were identical to all other units with the kitchen and bathrooms being typical. They wanted interiors that were provocative, unique, and bespoke to them. DMID was brought on board early in the process, giving us the time and freedom to design and execute everything from additional architectural details to sourcing furnishings across the globe. Taking cues from the architecture of the building and enlisting local artisans we created interesting wall treatments, bespoke furnishings, and a curated art collection. The design is a breathtaking space paying homage to classical interiors influenced by the effortlessness of French interiors and grittiness of a London flat.
Donna Mondi recognized by Modern Luxury as one of Chicago's Dynamic Women.
A Donna Mondi Interior Design project graces the cover of luxe.interiors + design. Located in Chicago's Gold Coast, this 4,000 sq. ft. two-story luxury penthouse with floor to ceiling windows and large, open spaces offers spectacular city views and the perfect opportunity to create dame in materiality. Our clients were both empty nesters while planning their wedding as they started a new life together. They wanted a place to call their own that was a blending of both their styles; his love of vintage rock and roll, along with her softer, more feminine side. With homes in other areas of the country, this home was to be unique to Chicago and representative of their lives here. As owners of local distilleries, the art of the cocktail hour become the overarching theme. The DMID team of designers created a custom fluted Wenge bar, a leather and walnut bed wall, and dynamic materials to customize this home to fit both of their outgoing personalities and love of entertaining.
