This Helen Frankenthaler rare limited edition extra large Abstract Expressionist hand pulled silkscreen serigraph print " Solar Imp " 1995, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
Published by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. for The New York City Baller, and List Art Posters in 2001. Printed by Brand X Editions on extra thick heavyweight cotton paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a matte finish. The rare hand pulled silkscreen serigraph print was printed in a limited edition of 500, plate signed by the artist and unnumbered. It features an Abstract Expressionist artwork image created by Frankenthaler in 1995 titled " Solar Imp ".
Helen Frankenthaler ( 1928 - 2011 ) is an American Abstract Expressionist painter of a liberal Jewish background, and is a major contributor to the history of Postwar Modernist painting. She exhibited her work for over six decades, spanning several generations of Abstract painters while continuing to produce vital and ever changing new art works.
Her work has been the subject of several retrospective exhibitions including The Museum of Modern Art New York, The Whitney Museum, The Jewish Museum, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She has been exhibited worldwide since the 1950's, and was awarded The National Medal of the Arts in 2001. Her artworks are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The Lincoln Center poster collection and The Albert A. List Foundation began a creative program in 1962 of special poster prints works of art commissioned for festivals, performances, and special events at Lincoln Center for Performing Arts in New York City. The fine art poster prints have heralded the opening of each theater building at Lincoln Center, and for such festivals as Mostly Mozart, Newport Jazz, and The New York Film Festival.
The Lincoln Center poster print program has collaborated with the most admired and respected top Contemporary artists of our time to create artworks that have become highly desirable and award wining works of art in their own right. Many of the poster prints have been exhibited internationally and examples are held in the collections of many of the most important museums.
The rare out of print extra large format Abstract Expressionist silkscreen serigraph print measures 29 3/4" W X 45" H.
