Transparent strands of nylon thread connect the capiz shells to the top circular capiz umbrella giving it a Jellyfish-like appearance. we have even seen these referred to as "Jellyfish Lamps". Can be used as either a hanging light or a wind chime. When wired properly, each cluster of shells should have a light bulb socket centered in the cluster and the translucent shells act as a antural lampshade which softens and diffuses the light to a soft glow. less
