Beautiful simple handmade-design country French armoire with dovetail construction. The pine grain is used artistically within the two fluted and turned columns on the front. It has bead and board sides and a metal lock with the original key. A tassel was added.
I don’t think the mirror is original, looks too perfect. Shipped to the USA from France in the 1990s. The shipper's label is still attached.
Comes with 3 original adjustable shelves that sit on wonder handmade sawtoothed bars. There are 2 additional more recently made shelves with bars to adjust them inside.

There is definitely are imperfections that add to the charm and character of antique pieces like this. The lower hinge on the door is delicate so the door should be closed slowly. It could be adjusted, I just never did it. There are a few slivers of wood that are labeled and in a baggie that came with this. The bars need to have something stuffed in to keep them in place like folded paper or tape. Just a typical kind of quirk of an antique handmade piece. less
