The special McKinley pattern was manufactured for just … Read more A striking porcelain vase from the discontinued McKinley Presidential Collection by Lenox. The special McKinley pattern was manufactured for just over 20 years by Lenox before it was discontinued. This pattern was named after President William McKinley, the 25th President of the United States. It features an elegant enameled pearl-white background, with a delicate blush pink, gray, and light yellow floral and bird design. The vase is surrounded by a blue-gray border interspersed with blocks of enameled pearl-white raised dots bracketed by gold Celtic knots, presumably a nod to President McKinley's Irish heritage. The lip and the bottom rim of the vase are trimmed in gold paint.

McKinley lived in Canton, Ohio, and served as the 39th Governor of Ohio from 1892-1896. He was elected the 25th President of the United States and served from 1897 until his death in 1901. He was succeeded by Theodore Roosevelt. See less
