The factory produced high-quality Dresden ware and is most famous for its Rococo, ornate Meissen-like, and Secession style decorated porcelain. This type featured gilding, applied foliage, and flowers. It's rare to find a matching pair, and it's rare to find these without a lot of chipping and missing pieces. These are in exceptional condition, with only 2 imperfections I can see and they have been repaired. One is in the fourth photo, the large orange/ red flower was missing half of the front petal. It has been reconstructed and looks great. The other minor flaw I found was a tiny tip of one of the fingers. It has been repaired and if I didn't tell you about it you probably would not have even known. For items that are more than 100 years old it's amazing they are in this condition. I believe they have been rewired, they work fine. The wire does not look old enough to be the original wire. The little dancing cherubs are just adorable. Forget me nots and roses and other pretty flowers adorn these lamp bases. less
