This Andy Warhol Foundation rare vintage 1995 Pop Art offset lithograph print " Myths : Mickey Mouse " 1981, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art print is published by Te Neues Publishing Company, printed in Germany in 1995 with the licensed authorized rights of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1981 titled " Myths : Mickey Mouse ", image courtesy of Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, New York.
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, artworks, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
In 1981, while choosing subjects from Hollywood films and 1950's television, Warhol created the Mickey Mouse Series. The fantasy figure from childhood, a quintessential American image, is a typical Warhol icon. With the Mickey Mouse Series, Warhol worked in a highly stylized manner using an innovative technique, bright color combinations and repeated images.
The rare out of print offset lithograph Pop Art print measures 11 13/16" W X 16" H. It is printed on high quality smooth finish paper stock with vibrant ink colors.
