This Really is a Great Looking Antique Early American Blue Decorated Stoneware Storage Jar - Crock. Circa Mid 19th Century. This Large Size 14 3/4 Inches Tall Jar is Completely Hand Made. The Classic Stoneware Salt Glaze Exterior is Hand Decorated with 2 ( Front and Back Side ) Beautifully Executed Stylized Large Navy - Cobalt Blue Tulip Flowers. Note That it Also Has Additional Blue Decoration at The Handles "Ears". It is Stamped - Embossed "3" Denoting its Three Gallon Storage Capacity. These These Jars were Typically Used for Jelly's & Jams - Preserved Fruits - Vegetables Etc. It has No Maker Marks but I did Purchase it on one of my Recent Picking Adventures in the Lancaster Pennsylvania Region and I Believe that it is Most Likely From the Baltimore Maryland Region.
