Exquisitely hand-crafted in France in the late 19th century, exceptionally executed in refined luxurious Louis XVI taste, having a rouge marble top framed by stepped molded edge, solid mahogany case with elegant quartered diamond parquetry-work and brilliant gilt metal trim, fitted with a dovetailed frieze drawer over single cupboard door, opening to reveal marble-lined interior storage compartment, rising on classical fluted supports joined by lower tier shelf stretcher, rising on toupie feet.
The lockplate is signed/marked: AV (star) Paris
