This red terracotta planter reflects mid-20th-century utilitarian garden production, formed as a shallow leaf-shape vessel in unglazed earthenware. Measuring approximately 9.25 inches across, the bowl incorporates three suspension perforations along the rim intended for outdoor hanging applications. The impressed square mark on the underside aligns with commercial garden manufacturers producing earthenware containers for export distribution.
Leaf-form terracotta planters of this type were made in volume across Asian ceramic centers, where hand-finishing and mold-press forming supported cost-efficient production for horticultural markets. The present example is suitable for lightweight planting and general hanging use within residential garden settings.
