This gorgeous, signed, oil painting of flowers has a fantastic old frame! The painting has a gold background and in certain light the colors appear to be metallic. The second photo was taken in direct light to show the metallic qualities of the paint. It’s subtle though and it doesn’t look metallic unless light is shining right on it. The bouquet has flowers painted in scarlet red, light pink, cornflower blue, and yellow-gold. The frame was done by VanPelt Art galleries/custom framing in Chicago. The previous owner said, “this is a very old frame”. Age unknown. My guess since I have to enter an age is mid century.
The frame seems to have been painted over once or twice, based on the appearance of the back of the frame. The bottom left corner of the painting where the painting meets the frame has a small amount of damage to it.
