This Mark Rothko rare vintage 1987 Abstract Expressionist lithograph print custom framed collector's Tate Gallery exhibition poster " Untitled " 1949, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The exhibition poster print is published by The Tate Gallery Publications, Millbank London, printed in 1987 in an unnumbered limited edition by The Hillingdon Press, Uxbridge Middlesex, on the occasion of the exhibition. It features an " Untitled " artwork image originally created by Rothko in 1949, courtesy Yale University Art Gallery, The Catherine Ordway Collection, poster design by Caroline Johnston.
This is a rare opportunity for true Rothko fans and collectors as this coveted image exhibition poster print is long out of print and very scarce to find.
Mark Rothko ( 1903 - 1970 ) is an American Modernist painter of Russian Jewish descent. Although Rothko himself refused to adhere to any art movement, he is generally defined as an Abstract Expressionist. His bold use of color fields make the artworks impressively iconic and highly individual. Rothko is considered to be one of the most important and influential American artists of The Twentieth Century. Artworks by Rothko are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print Abstract Expressionist lithograph print framed exhibition poster measures 21 1/2" W X 31 1/2" H X 1 1/4" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte satin finish black metal box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling and very light minor wear.
