This 19th century flip-top tray table is exquisite! It's made of French papier mâché and wood with a black lacquered background and scalloped edge top. It has gold hand painted scroll details from top to bottom. The center decoration depicts pretty florals with mother-of-pearl accents. It sits on a baluster stem with a tri-footed base. The hinges have been replaced and some fasteners added for stability. A fantastic example of 19th century expert craftsmanship.
