This Andy Warhol very rare vintage 1981 iconic lithograph print custom farmed collector's Pop Art poster " Marilyn " 1976, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster print is published by The Kupferstich Kabinett Museum, Farbsiendruck - Berlin, printed in Switzerland in 1981 in an unnumbered limited edition by Vontobel, CH - Feldmeilen. It features an iconic portrait artwork of actress Marilyn Monroe originally created by Warhol in 11967 titled " Marilyn ", SMPK - copyright 1981 by VAGA, New York and Bild-Kunst Bonn.

Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
Warhol's " Marilyn " 1967, is from one of the artists most sought after acclaimed portfolio series. This Pop Art portrait is feminine, bold, and iconic. The image is based on Gene Korman's photograph of the starlet, a promotional photo for the 1953 film noir Niagra. The image recalls the Hollywood cinema world in which Marilyn Monroe's career skyrocketed. The result is an inspiring exploration of the symbol of Marilyn Monroe as a Pop icon and cultural figure evoking her ubiquitous celebrity status.
The rare out of print framed collector's Pop Art poster measures 24 1/8" W X 29 3/4" H X 1 1/2" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern mocha charcoal gray matte eggshell finish museum box style wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire wire in the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
