Chic and elegant curule base bench done in a sleek jet black gloss lacquer with brushed antiqued gold wooden handles. The removable bench seat has been reupholstered with a high-density upholstery grade polyurethane foam cushion atop a wood base for structural integrity and firm yet comfortable seat. The bench seat was recovered in a fast back sateen cotton fabric from Barbara Brackman and Terry Clothier Thompson’s Material Pleasures “Leaving the Country” Collection. The pattern is Raintree, which offers a rich jet black background scattered with a melodic motif of vines and leaves in pale gold. The pattern is a reproduction from a fabric that was popular from 1880 to 1910 with the same motif. It’s a classically elegant look and most appropriate for any decorative style you may have in your space. The removable bench seat measures 18¼” x 13½” x 3” W/D/H; arm height 8¼”. The steel curule bench frame is 24¼” high; 22½” x 15¼” W/D (measured from handle-to-handle); seat-to-floor height 19”; weight approximately 6 lbs. Curule-shaped frame crafted from steel painted in a sleek jet black gloss lacquer finish; fabric can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth if needed. In excellent condition with minimal wear due to being refurbished. It hails from the mid 20th-century, circa 1960s. Vintage beauty with a luxe modern vibe, what’s not to like?
