Introducing the stunning Grand Tour Polychromed Limestone Head of a Pharoh- a remarkable artifact that will transport you back in time to the days of the pharaohs. Measuring 6" x 4.5" x 5.5", this impressive bust is a testament to the excellent workmanship of its creator.
Believed to be from the 19th century, this incredible polychromed limestone head depicts what is likely Amenhotep III, the king who famously wore the khepresh, or blue crown, during battle and ceremonies. The body of the uraeus cobra sits prominently on the crown above the king's forehead, with symbolic representations of the uraeus along the side of the head.
The king's arched eyebrows, elongated narrow eyes, and slim nose are all depicted with incredible attention to detail, while his full lips give him an air of regal sophistication. The condition of this artifact is excellent for its age and use, making it the perfect addition to your cabinet of curiosities or as the centerpiece on your mantle or side table.
I acquired this piece from an estate sale in Pasadena and it has been in my personal collection of curiosities and displayed in my home for 7 years. For clarity this is not a Cultural Relic and as such does not fall under any regulatory statutes. This piece would have been the equivalent of a souvenir. I have seen 2 similar items in years of collecting. One in the immersive art display by Mark Dion called "Cabinet of Wonders" on permanent display in Tulsa, OK. and more recently one sold on a competitive site( in much worse condition). This piece is a true conversation piece.
Whether you're a collector of Egyptian artifacts and decoration or simply someone who appreciates the beauty and history of this incredible culture, this Grand Tour Polychromed Limestone Head of a Pharoh is sure to impress. Command the attention of your friends with tales of Indiana Jones-style adventures and become the envy of all who lay eyes on this stunning piece. Don't miss out on the chance to own a piece of history less
